Jock itch is a fungus caused disease. The fungus is known as Trichophyton rubrum which harbors in warm and damp areas. It is also cause by excessive sweating and overweight in the private areas. It mainly affects areas around the groin, inner thighs and the buttocks.

d) Wearing cotton underwear also help in preventing the fungus is because they absorb all the moist in the groin area and keeps it dry. It is also advisable to wear well fitting underwear that are not tight as they allow room for proper aeration in the private parts and good flow of blood.
e) Using an antifungal shampoo once a day, like ketoconazole or selenium sulfide to wash the groin area also keeps the fungus away.
There are other homes remedies for jock itch which help treat the disesase.They include:
a) Use of garlic- including it in the diet because of its antifungal effect. Right diet keeps the fungal level right and prevents the diseases. One should also avoid greasy, fried and processed foods. It should also be in mind that eating fruits is recommended as they give resistance to fungus infestation.
b) Honey should also be included and it can be spread over the infected area and gives a soothing effect to the area.
c) By soaking the affected area with a washcloth dipped in dilute white vinegar and drying the skin.
d) Soaking the affected area in very dilute Clorox bleach in a bathtub at least once a day and drying the skin properly.
e) Keeping the groin are dry helps prevent accumulation or infestation of the fungus
